After your drains have been unblocked by your chosen private drainage company you should be informed immediately that the drains are now clear of the block. You may be asked if you would like a CCTV inspection of your drain pipes to identify why or where the blockage has occurred. If you have experienced problems previously with the drain system, then a CCTV inspection will be advantageous and will provide you with a picture or recording of the potential issue causing the obstruction in your pipework.
Your chosen local drain unblocking contractor should quote you the fixed agreed cost of the drain CCTV survey for your drain system which should cost around £175+vat for a general domestic property. A commercial drain CCTV survey will no doubt include the inspection of several manholes and multiple sections of pipework which will likely cost more. Ensure an agreed cost for the CCTV survey is confirmed in writing before agreeing with your drain unblocking company to carry out any inspection on your drain.
A drain CCTV survey will also identify any issues existing within your drain pipes which may have been underlying within the drain system for some time. These defects may include pipe displacements, where the short individual sections your old pipes are not correctly aligned due to subsidence or ground movement, human intervention and ground disruption, leakage or continual blocking.

44.50 per half hour labour (to unblock using manual means ie. With rods)
£57.50 per half hour plant hire for high pressure water jetter or additional plant and machinery required to unblock, investigate or access pipework.
A fixed price for any remedial work or repairs necessary will be quoted once your drains are unblocked and a full CCTV survey has been undertaken.
